After years of contemplating and months of planning, I'm finally underway! This first page of pictures is from March, 2008. I've built a base out of medium density particle board and transferred my layout drawings onto it. On March 9th, the first of what would be many thousands of pieces of styrene plastic were measured, cut and attached with solvent. So far, just very basic framework and of course, it looks nothing like a baseball stadium at this point. I realized after just a couple weeks of work, this was going to require more time and patience than I had expected. The plan is to have the grandstand unattached to the base, as will be the bleachers. While the grandstand itself will be relatively light, the base weighs about 115 LBS. Having the grandstand and bleachers removable will make transportation easier when it's completed.
