I'd like to welcome baseball fans,  architecture buffs,  scale model enthusiasts and in particular, longtime fans of the New York Yankees to this site. My name is John Meeks and I am currently involved in a project that's been on my mind's back-burner for over 20 years,  constructing, mostly in styrene plastic, a scale model of Yankee Stadium as it appeared in June of 1973.  Growing up in New Jersey in the 1960's and 70's, you were either a Yankees fan or a Mets fan and for me, seeing the old Yankee Stadium for the first time in 1969 set my preference in stone forever.                                                                                              I'm creating this in 1/120 scale; every 1/10 inch equals 1 foot. This is only the second model I've attempted to build in styrene plastic, so there's been a learning curve for me that at times has slowed things down. I'm always finding  better ways to do various aspects of this complex model which has resulted in redoing things from time to time. Luckily, all the "redo's" have been significantly better than what was replaced.                                                                                                                                         I hope you all enjoy viewing the project as it developes as much as I have enjoyed building it. As it stands currently, there are still many months of work ahead of me and I'll be adding new photos on a regular basis.
